Subutex Detox

What is Subutex?

Subutex is the brand name for the drug buprenorphine, which is the first drug to be approved by the FDA for the treatment of drug addiction from a doctor's office setting as opposed to a substance abuse clinic or rehabilitation center.

What is the Benefit of a Subutex Detox?

Previously, the only medicated detox off of harsh drugs like heroin and other opiates was methadone. Highly restricted, methadone can only be administered by a methadone clinic or another drug treatment facility. This meant that anyone wishing to detox off of an opiate via methadone had to enroll in a rigorous inpatient program or pick up their methadone dose daily at the clinic.

With the advent of Suboxone and Subutex treatments, a medical detox is now available in the outpatient setting without a daily trip to a clinic or dose dispensing facility. Rather, a convenient prescription for the drug is provided for the patient to take at home.

This is the treatment plan chosen by Meditox. We provide those who are suited for the plan with a prescription for either Suboxone or Subutex. According to the treatment plan that you and your Meditox doctor prepare together, the buprenorphine prescription is taken in smaller and smaller doses, confidentially and in the privacy of your home.

Can my Doctor Prescribe and Monitor my Subutex Detox?

It's possible but unlikely. In order to prescribe any form of buprenorphine, including Subutex or Suboxone, a doctor must be certified specifically in the drug's restrictions and dispensation. Your family doctor may be a good candidate to assist you in chronic pain management without the use of opiates after you have successfully detoxed.

Why Choose Meditox?

Meditox provides you with the help you need to break your dependence upon opiates and narcotic drug addiction. Completely confidential, Meditox will only correspond with a doctor in your area about your condition upon your request. If you choose, no one need ever be the wiser about your problem with pain medication or other opiates. You can handle your physical addiction discreetly with Meditox.

Also, our program serves clients on an outpatient basis, requiring only one face-to-face meeting with you. Rather than the long 30 day to six month long inpatient treatment programs that are a traditional method of dealing with drug addiction, our program allows you to detox in your own home, surrounded by family and friends. Even local outpatient programs have strict attendance requirements including group meetings, drug classes and a scheduled daily dosing time, requirements that make sense for some patients but not for those actively trying to maintain their career or care for their family. The Meditox treatment program allows you to maintain your schedule and your relationships without interference from a problem that has already taken too much from your life.
