Pain Pill Withdrawal
When is a user of pain pills for non-medical reasons considered a junkie? Many people use pain pills or other opiates occasionally for the sensation of getting high. Some individuals develop a specific pattern of daily use that increases over time and then stabilizes at a certain point.
A person is considered to be addicted when he or she has lost control of using the drug- when he must continue to pursue the pattern of use he has started. For some people, this loss of control might come from injecting or snorting, for some even drinking cough syrup.
Some people believe that if a user does not experience withdrawal, he is not addicted to pain pills. However, if a user of pain pills has been taking them regularly, he can be addicted before he has taken the drug long enough to show strong withdrawal signs.
One of the factors of drug withdrawal is drug craving. This is the result of the drug which remains in the memory which provides a pleasant association with the pain pills. The subconscious memory then motivates the individual to seek these pills because of the false memory imprint. The brain has been trained that using pain pills is the fastest way to feel good.
Some other pain pill withdrawal symptoms are:
- anxiety
- stomach aches
- nausea and vomiting
- difficulty sleeping
- muscle aches and pains
- chills
- sweating
- fever
The Meditox Method can help pain pill abusers become free of chemical dependency without having to suffer through the pain and misery of withdrawal.
