Hydrocodone Rehab
Hydrocodone is believed to be one of the most widely abused addictive drugs in the United States. In the last ten years, its use has quadrupled and statistics show that visits to the emergency room attributed to hydrocodone have increased 500%.
Even though this is such an addictive drug, its' use has not been as severely controlled as other narcotic pain killers. The reason for this is that pure hydrocodone is classified as a Schedule II drug which means it is closely controlled with restricted use. However, most prescription drugs made with hydrocodone are only composed of small amounts of this opiate combined with other ingredients which are non-narcotic. Consequently, these are classified as Schedule III which means there are fewer restrictions on their use.
It is believed that it takes only one to four weeks of use at high doses to cause hydrocodone addiction or dependence. Prescriptions for this drug are on the increase as there were over 56 million new prescriptions written in 1998 and over 89 million written for hydrocodone products by the year 2000.
Hydrocodone is available in three levels of strength - 5, 7.5 and 10 milligrams - and it is commonly ingested orally. One of the reasons this drug is so popular with abusers is that it is not taken by injection, thereby making it safer to use than heroin-type opiates in the minds of the users since there are no dangers of AIDs about which to be concerned.
The Meditox Method is designed for individualized outpatient hydrocodone rehab. For those patients who wish to become free of chemical dependency, we provide a regimen of safe and effective medication along with one on one counseling and assurance of privacy in treatment.
